One weekend in the spring, the Pacific Beach Library’s Meeting Room/Gallery is transformed into a big bazaar, when the PB Friends stage their Annual White Elephant Sale. The date of the 2009 sale has not yet been determined. The success of the sale depends upon the generosity of our library patrons, so please clean out your closets and help raise funds to benefit the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library! Since the Library does not have space to store items for any length of time, we ask that donors accumulate their items and then drop them off the week prior to the sale. Donations of lightly used and new items are sought in the following categories: antiques, collectibles, art, bric-a-brac, glassware, kitchenware, decorative items and giftware [no clothing or furniture, please].

Because so many library supporters have asked if they could make donations other than books throughout the year, the PB Friends have begun accepting written bids on a donated White Elephant Sale (WES) Item of the Month. The WES item can be viewed in the Friends room during the Book Sale hours (Wednesdays 11-5 and Saturdays 9:30-2). Written bids are accepted in the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library, on the bulletin board near the photocopier. Bids are accepted during the first two weeks of each month. Winners are notified by phone, then have a week in which to pick up their item. Cash or check payments may be made at the Circulation Desk.
